Our local charity – Bridging the Gaps in the Goring Gap community by providing support, companionship, activities and information on living well.

About The Hub

The Hub supports adults in our local community of Goring, Streatley and surrounding villages. We provide high quality, friendly and easily-accessible support, social interaction and guidance – right at the heart of the community.

Our Mission

Confronting social isolation, building resilience and empowering the community, through guidance, support and action.

Melanie Meads,
Founder and Trustee

We bridge the gaps in our society:

  • so no-one feels lonely or isolated
  • so everyone receives the help and support they are entitled to
  • so people are connected to each other, and to the organisations that can assist them.

We believe this will improve quality of life for all, and improve our community.

About Q1 Foundation

As our work became increasingly central to the community, we changed our name from Q1 Foundation (which remains our registered charity name) to our operational name the Hub – Bridging the Gap, to reflect the support and services we provide. We are a small local charity, registered with the Charity Commission in 2019. We are reliant on fundraising by the community and from grants to run our services for the Goring Gap community.

Q1 Foundation was set up in response to the founder seeing a real gap in provision of care in our community, where people were unable to afford private care and didn’t know what support was available to them. The charity aims to provide information and support to all adults in our area, ensuring they get all the help and information they need around care, benefits, preventing isolation, and all aspects of living well – which also benefits the community as a whole.

Our People

Trustees

We have three volunteer Directors (Trustees) who have been onboard from the early days of the charity’s formation and oversee the direction and governance of the charity. They do not receive any remuneration for their support.
